Francisca Bastos

Francisca was raised at Casa de Cerqueda, in Celorico de Basto, where she grew up surrounded by natural beauty and the living heritage of a land that inspires all who visit. It was there, amidst ancient trails and the sound of horses in the fields, that a deep passion was born — not just for horses, but for everything they represent: freedom, strength, and a connection to nature. At 16, she began her journey as a riding instructor, a profession that took her to live and work in various countries across Europe. Each experience brought new lessons, cultures, and ways of seeing the world — but horses remained the constant thread.Later, driven by her commitment to animals, she pursued a degree in veterinary medicine. Today, she dedicates herself fully to animal welfare, combining technical knowledge with the care of someone who understands every gesture, every look.Sharing this passion with others is, for her, more than just a job — it’s a life purpose.
